How to play forest bingo

Choose a card

Set the month and size – the 3 × 3 card for little ones, 4 × 4 for school children. Print it or simply play on your phone.

Search and tick off

Whoever spots something taps or crosses off the square. Mushrooms and plants with 👀 are look-only – a photo is welcome.

Shout bingo

A full row, column or diagonal is bingo. Who can finish the whole card before the picnic?

Ideas for days out, holidays and parties

Birthday party in the forest

Print a different card for every child, search in teams, the first bingo wins the treasure. More ideas on the children in the forest page.

Holidays and trips

Every month brings different cards – so every visit to the forest is new, at home or on holiday.

Kindergartens, schools and groups

Print up to six different cards at once. The plants and mushrooms are linked – for anyone who wants to learn more afterwards.

On these cards: Mokrzyca pospolita · Szyszka: Jodła pospolita · Tarnina · Igły: Świerk pospolity · Gołąbek · Igły: Daglezja zielona · Dzika róża · Kolczak obłączasty · Szyszka: Sosna zwyczajna

If a child has eaten something from the forest after all: call the poison centre or 112 straight away and keep a sample or a photo.

Frequently asked questions

What is forest bingo?

A bingo card with things children can discover in the forest – plants, leaves, cones, mushrooms, animal tracks or a feather. Whoever completes a row, column or diagonal shouts “Bingo!”.

What age is forest bingo for?

The small card (3 × 3) suits children from about 3 with an adult reading aloud. The large card (4 × 4) is for children from about 6 who can search on their own.

Why does the card change every month?

The card only shows plants and mushrooms that are in season, and finds that fit the time of year – colourful leaves and acorns in autumn, tracks in the snow in winter.

Can children pick the mushrooms and plants?

No – mushrooms and plants with the eye symbol are only looked at, never picked and never put in the mouth. Poisonous plants never appear on the card. Only eat what an adult knows for certain.

Can I print different cards for several children?

Yes, up to six different cards at once – ideal for a birthday party in the forest or a kindergarten group. Each card prints on its own page.
