Mushroom season in Italy
Morels arrive in spring. From June come chanterelles, then in late summer and autumn porcini, parasols, saffron milkcaps and horns of plenty. In the north and in the mountains the season starts in summer and ends with the first frost; in central and southern Italy and the Apennines the best porcini often come in autumn.
Weather decides: after heavy rain and some warm, humid days, mushrooms often appear one to two weeks later. After heat and drought the forest stays empty. That is exactly what Waldschatzfinder calculates for your location.
