In short: Waldschatzfinder is free, forecasts are a guide and not a promise, you only eat what you know for sure – and in the community we treat each other kindly.
1. Scope
These terms of use apply to the use of waldschatzfinder.de (“Waldschatzfinder”). The operator is Axel Jerabek (address in the legal notice). By signing up – by email or with Google – you accept these terms. Guests can use the publicly available features without an account; these terms apply accordingly.
2. What Waldschatzfinder offers
Waldschatzfinder is free of charge. It offers mushroom weather and forecasts, maps, information on mushrooms and plants, a mushroom AI, recipes and community features such as blogs, comments, messages and find reports.
There is no entitlement to particular features or uninterrupted availability. We may change, extend, limit (for example the number of free analyses for guests) or discontinue features.
3. Important: forecasts and identifications are only a guide
Mushroom forecasts, maps, notes on species and plants and results of the mushroom AI are model calculations and estimates – without guarantee. They do not replace your own safe identification or advice from a mushroom expert.
Never eat mushrooms or plants you do not know with absolute certainty. Picking and eating are at your own risk. Observe the applicable picking rules, protected areas and the rights of forest owners. If poisoning is suspected, contact a poison centre or the emergency number 112 immediately.
4. Your account
Please provide truthful information and do not share your account. Keep your password secret. A username must not be misleading (for example suggesting that you speak for Waldschatzfinder) or infringe the rights of others.
You can delete your account in your profile at any time. In case of serious or repeated violations of these terms we may remove content and suspend or delete accounts.
5. Your content
Posts, comments, photos and find reports remain your content. You grant us a simple, free right to store and display them within Waldschatzfinder and to adapt them technically for this purpose (e.g. image sizes). This right ends when you delete the content or your account; copies in backups are overwritten in the usual cycle.
You may only publish content to which you hold the necessary rights. In particular, unlawful, insulting, discriminatory or misleading content, advertising and spam, and the publication of other people’s personal data are not allowed. Dangerous eating recommendations are off limits.
We do not check content in advance, but we remove content that violates these terms or the law as soon as we become aware of it. Reports via the report function or the contact form are welcome.
6. Play fair
Please use Waldschatzfinder as intended: no automated retrieval or mass copying of content and data, no circumvention of limits, no interference with the technology and no harassment of other users.
7. Liability
Waldschatzfinder is a free service. We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health and under the German Product Liability Act. Otherwise, liability for slight negligence is excluded to the extent permitted by law.
The authors of content by other users and of linked third-party sites are responsible for that content.
8. Changes
We may amend these terms, for example when new features are added. We will announce significant changes to registered users in good time. If you continue to use Waldschatzfinder afterwards, the new terms apply; you can delete your account at any time.
9. Final provisions
German law applies. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which you live remain unaffected. Should any provision be invalid, the remaining provisions remain valid.
