European yew

Taxus baccata

Soft, flat, dark green needles without white stripes underneath. Instead of cones, yew bears red, cup-shaped “berries”. Bark reddish-brown and peeling thinly. Almost all parts are highly poisonous – especially the needles and the seeds inside the red berries.
